Hello everyone, you may or may not know me, either way that’s cool. My name is Dean, and I’m a third year computer science student. Without saying anything else you should have figured out that I love technology, and I love the Internet. This blog will be my rants about life, the universe and everything and will serve as an outlet for my personal feelings. I know, I know, I tell myself “Dean, just stick to one blog” but it’s not as fun that way! The feeling of a new blog, a new service and fantastic new communities are too much of a draw to stagnate. Maybe one day I will settle down at http://www.deanpearce.net but until that day comes, you can find me pop up all over the ‘net.
So my favourite topic is artificial intelligence and the concept of mind uploading. Both concepts tie closely together and also imply some fantastic things such as our connection to the physical and virtual worlds. I know right now it seems farfetched, but in time, I would like to see the convergence of all technology into one point, the singularity of sorts of the technological world, where lines between real and virtual, biological and engineered, intelligent and artificial are blurred. Well, that was a little quip about me, let me know what you think and please feel free to discuss, debate, argue or outright tell me I’m wrong. I will listen but expect me to fight back
